Today I finished editing my essay, wrote my reflection and went over more punctuation with the help of my writers inc book i also set up my essay to be handed in with table of contents and everything. YAY!

March 23rd Process

Tonight I finished my conclusion and really went deep into the meaning of my revelation in the essay and came up with a really interesting thought provoking ending, that we can take Piggy and make him an average citizen who has been governed by the government or in Piggy's case Auntie and it has made them weaker because since we are protected by the government we are humane and thus weaker because we are governed if we go into a situation where we are not governed we have to learn to adapt and adapting might mean sacrificing something and will we make the right choice and is there a right choice is kind of the conclusion i got to. I also went through my punctuation and edited.

I also got my essay to be peer reviewed by a friend in another class to get their feedback. I took some of her suggestions and it was very helpful.

Tomorrow in class i plan to revise and edit more as well as make sure i have all of the requirements for the final essay.

March 22nd Process

Today in class i conferenced again with mr. fichter who helped me direct my individual paragraphs and noticing the layers of each one as well as we discussed my conclusion and bigger idea at the end of the essay. I also filled out an extension pass but am not sure whether i will be using it or not. I edited my paragraphs and am now ready to write my conclusion

March 20th Process

Today I wrote 4 paragraphs of my essay as well as formed my thesis into a clear sentence and discussed with my dad my thesis to make sure it is still not obvious and something that sparks interest in an average reader.

I also outlined my conclusion and plan to write that either tomorrow or monday.

march 19th 2010 Process

I looked at the comments mr. Fichter wrote on my macbeth essay and it said to find the strongest piece of text i can so i continued to read an see if i can find a strong text to support. I also asked mr. Fichter what a strong text exactly is and learned what to look for in the language to prove my point. I also worked some more on writing my thesis by using the 5 why's

March 16th 2010 Process

Today in class i looked at Mr. Fichter's comments and used that to outline my essay, write my introduction and add another passage to my spotlight passages. I hope to wrote more actual parragraphs soon - i also expanded that Piggy's auntie made him logical from England

Rough Draft Process

I first had an idea that was about Piggy relating to the pigs and that each time a pig was killed part of piggy died, but after thinking that through i realized (with the help of Mr. Fichter) that this was to general and was not thinking deeply. So i thought through my idea and based off of that idea I looked at the passages i had drawn out about Piggy, like on pages 83 and 84

From this i realized that Piggy does have a certain characteristic that he often shows through that has changed throughout the book and in the passage above we see that piggy has lost the logic in his life. But if we look at the beginning he is logical and is the only voice of reason but while he is reasonable he is always depending on others and believing the best in others, the problem i saw was that on the island the boys are not always good people and it is hard to be logical and always be dependant on others so as i keep exploring i hope to find proof to support my idea that piggy sacrificed his logic to continue to believe the best in others and this is what got him killed.
